We decided last night that we weren't going on any tours today as we needed a break from the hours of bus rides. We did however buy our bus tickets for our trip to Villahermosa. This trip turns out to be 7 hours! That is planned for Thursday. We have decided to just spend tomorrow here as well.
Caro had been up before me and had gone walking the empty streets taking some nice photos. I snoozed until about 8 AM
I sent some clothes to be laundered via the hotel. They were delivered back to me tonight at at cost of about $5 (mainly shirts, underwear, socks). Good deal
We went to a nice second story restaurant for breakfast.
Caro found a church nearby that was "only" 260 steps to get up to , so naturally we went there (our feet hurt tonight-coincidence???). Because almost every place here doesn't accept credit we had to go to a bank to withdraw cash. I used our BMO debit card for the first time internationally. It went smoothly and I am happy as this card is what I plan to use on our future travels.
Caro bought some souvenirs at the huge artisans market and we toured the amber museum (extremely interesting) and a museum of Chiapas textiles (including some over 1000 years old). It was a day of walking and visiting interesting streets and churches and we had three good tasty meals. Caro had one of her favourite soups-Pozole and I had a mushroom quesadilla (which was so good I ordered another one YUMMY!)
It rained for a few hours this afternoon but tonight is wonderful as we sit in the patio where the wi-fi signal is strong. Caro is drinking some tasty Mexican wine and I am having some good Mexican Bacardi rum.
