Friday night in Chinatown

Shortly after I posted today’s happenings we decided to go out and see the China Town streets, which are across the road from us.

We wandered up and down looking at all the tiny street food stands and all the little shops and restaurants. The place is a madhouse with tuk-tuks, taxis  and pedestrians all sharing the same spaces.

We first decided to try fried squid. Unfortunately the cook mixed in some half cooked squid with the fully cooked so we decided to toss it (at $3 for the food it didn’t feel bad to do!)

Next we found something I had wanted to try.

See photo below

It was actually just so hard to chew that I tossed it. It was actually tasteless and for texture imagine trying to chew a pile of shrimp tails. Four dollars cost for that experience!

Next Caro wanted to try coconut ice cream. Coconut shaving are topped with ice cream and nuts. Quite tasty

It was a good way to spend an hour and we scoped out places for us to eat tomorrow night.
