Thursday night

Today we had a travel day to Puebla with Fernando, Edu, and Tete. Our first stop after a two hour drive was the pyramid at Cholula. The largest pyramid (by volume) in the world; it is topped by a beautiful Spanish church built in the 1500's.

Next we visited the historical center of the nearby City of Puebla. Another amazing,beautiful location with a beautiful cathedral surrounded by well kept colonial buildings. We ate a wonderful meal in a restaurant at the zocalo.

A short drive to Loreto fort where the Mexican army beat the French in the 1800's gave us a great view of Puebla (and time for coffee/hot chocolate) before heading back to Mexico City.

Blogger is still having problems so my Chromebook isn't connecting so I will try again to post photos separate to this entry.

Wednesday Aug 2nd

After a great sleep we were up late morning and Edu proceeded to set breakfast plates but gave me a big one while the others had small. Hmmmm. 😁

We went to Caro's dentist to get her implant tightened up. The doctor here had to clean up the glue the Fort dentist placed on the tooth to keep it tight. An hour later Caro was finished and the total bill was $42. I love Mexico!

We caught up with Ruben and Tete first having a coffee/hot chocolate at a brand new shopping center. It had the coolest underground parking I have ever seen. When a car is parked  in a spot a sensor recognizes that the space is occupied and a light above the car changes from green to red. When arriving at the parkade all you have to do is look around for a green light which is easily seen from a long distance. Also the parkade is multilevelled    and as you enter an electronic signboard tells you how many parking spots are available on each of the levels. Cool!!

We ate supper at a great restaurant (having Mexican food of course). We then fought our way over to a new area (for me) called San Angel. It is a beautiful colonial area with a church built in 1600 ( according to someone who wrote that on the internet). It is a mini Coyoacan.

In Mexico City

Michelle and Hannah dropped us off at the airport yesterday morning and after a couple hour wait we were on our way to Vancouver for our connection to Mexico City.

Both flights were cramped but we made it safely to Fernando and Edu by about 9:30 PM.

It was nice to drive through the city again as I haven't been here for four years although Caro has been back after times

Once again I am having trouble with  Blogger. I am using my cell phone because my Chromebook doesn't want to connect with blogger and I know I can't upload photos with posts when using the cell. Damn
