Today I walked a few kilometres on the beach. My thigh muscles still feel it!
Caro did her usual exercises on the veranda/terrace.
We spent a quiet afternoon reading/internet/pool time etc until a supper of "clean out the fridge".
We had a game of crib after supper
Just before our second game was to start Darlene came up (she is staying on the ground floor below us) so we chatted for about an hour. She has had a very interesting life and I think she was a hippy in her younger days (she is getting closer to 70 years old now so the timeline fits).
Another couple that stayed here for a few days left, and I wish I had been able to chat with them a bit more. They are in their early 70's and live on a sailboat which is presently in the port of Homer, Alaska. According to Darlene this other couple started sailing when their kids were 10 and 12 years old and took three years to sail from Boston to New Zealand! They have had a couple of boats in their time with the latest being a 37 foot monohull.
Great to see all the grand kids today (on Facetime and a photo).
