Off to Sydney Australia
Today was another (for us) typical Air Canada rocky start for our trip
We were informed (by text) that the Vancouver to Sydney flight was delayed for over an hour followed a few minutes later by a text and email stating our Edmonton to Vancouver flight was cancelled. Fortunately we hadn’t left the house yet
Within about 20 minutes we had been rebooked on an Air Canada Jazz flight leaving about 5:30 ( our original flight was about 4 PM).
Lisa drove us to the airport.
After a noisy prop flight we got into Vancouver ( and so did our checked bags as we confirmed with our Apple Air tags inside the bags)
Our flight was delayed a couple more times again with the new departure time at 0240 (the original was 2240)
We used a couple of our free lounge passes and spent the next four hours ( the maximum allowed) sitting in nice seats, enjoying food etc.
At midnight the lounge staff kicked us out and we made our way to gate D52 to join our fellow bleary eyed travellers waiting for our flight tonight/this morning.
0317 (0417 Alberta time)
Lift off!!
After a much needed nap after takeoff we awoke for a full supper meal (0530 Alberta time).
I found the flight becoming very long about the six hours mark ( somewhere north of Hawaii) however as time went on and I had had a few more cat naps I started feeling pretty good.
Neat cloud formations.
At the end of the flight we were both feeling OK. No getting around it though. I don’t want to do this long of an economy seating trip if I can help it.
I was able to see Brisbane from above and much of the countryside as we made our way down towards Sydney.
