Mostar

 On the way to Mostar

At breakfast we ate with one of our fellow travellers ( an Aussie). She has been to Mt Kilaminjaro, and Mount. Blanc hiking tour and to Mount Everest base camp. Super interesting!

We did our final walk around Sarajevo and were on the mini-bus by 11AM.

We drove through beautiful mountain roads. This area of the Balkans is what I always anticipated what the Balkans looked like.

We stopped at a very nice lake with a beautiful view and ordered our meals. Service was terrible, Caro never got her food , half of mine was missing,many people got cold food, and our one hour stop ended up over two hours. The place was simply overwhelmed serving  us and another bus. It was too bad as the location was magnificent.

The mountains here are gorgeous however as I write this at 3:15 in the afternoon the clouds are threatening.

Later;

We arrived in Mostar and our hotel with no issues.

We immediately had  a walking tour  and the guide explained the history of this area including the civil  war. This time it was the Croats fighting the Bosnians and the Serbs stayed up in the nearby hills.

Then we came to the famous bridge.There are tons of people here and the old city nearby is swamped. We all went to a restaurant nearby and while the service was slow, the food was excellent

A couple photos of supper and then off to bed
