We ate breakfast at a nearby cafe before heading back to the hotel to check out. A ten minute walk after checkout we were at the train station and not too long afterwards we were settled in for our 4.5 hour train ride to London King's Cross Station.
The train was full and many seats were filled with families and young children. I was very glad to have many podcasts to listen to on my headphones.
Saw something today we haven't seen in a while........sunshine! Oh so nice!
We arrived about 2:10, caught the Tube to Victoria station, made our way to our new hotel, checked in, and headed right back out on the Tube at Victoria station to go to the British Museum. Got there at 3:30 and after going through security we had a little over an hour to explore.
The first thing we saw was the Mausoleum of Halikarnassos.
The photo above is from that gallery.
The second part was Egyptian mummies and items/info on how the Egyptians completed the mummification process.
The lady was named Katebet and she died about 1300 BC.
The next photo is a cup I really like called The Lycurgus Cup ( from the late Roman Empire), (about 300 AD)
Our hotel room is TINY but it will have to do for tonight.
