We had a pretty good night last night. Caro had accidentally dropped her iPhone in the water and while it wouldn’t work last night, today it did. WHEW!
Across the street from our hotel was a breakfast restaurant that had a line up at the door before it even opened at 9 AM. Looked good to us then! Once at our table the service was slow but predictably so as there were two ladies handling a bunch of us and this place appeared to be “a must” place to eat Sunday morning breakfasts. Any time a table emptied it would have new people shortly afterward. Our breakfast consisted of really fancy crepes, both of us really enjoyed them. We were out the door at 10 AM and after a quick look inside the church nearby and a walk of the area we were on the highway back to Quebec City.
The highway was four lane divided all the way (not like the one we took to get to Saguenay a couple of days ago).
The scenery was beautiful at times. Mountainous all the way and some nice valleys.
We drove straight through Quebec City to the south side of the river. Our first stop was quite close.
These were called Chaudiere Falls. They had a nice hiking trail and we were able to walk across a suspension bridge and eventually around to the top of the falls. On the hike back I went down to the base of the falls. The second photo shows lots of people enjoying the rock formation’s etc. Caro stayed up as she didn’t feel comfortable with her footwork on the very uneven ground.
Once back at the car we took at look at options for our hotel for the last night. After looking at quite a few we decided to book at the same place as we had previously stayed. We were looking forward to the hot tub!
Next we went across country about 30 minutes to another water fall. This one was smaller and had hardly anyone there. It was called Rouillard Falls.
We both managed to make our way out on the rocks to get close up views.
On Google Maps I entered in our hotel address and we then followed instructions all the way here. The routing took us (on pavement) through small towns, twisty, turny narrow tree lined lanes before getting us on the highway. It was a great drive.
We go to the hotel and upon registration we were informed that the hot tub crapped out last night. BUMMER, as while we did end up in the pool for a while we had really wanted the tub!
We walked down the street to the same place we went to before for poutine and lobster roll followed by a caramel sundae. Yummy, Yummy
Tonight is just a quiet night. I am checking parking locations for tomorrow morning in the down town.
